The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for extreme high temperatures for today, Monday.
According to the department, the warning will be in effect from 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The maximum temperature inland is expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius.

Detailed Weather Forecast
Today, the weather will be generally mostly clear, although locally increased cloud cover will be observed at times, mainly in the mountains after noon. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and gradually increasing by the afternoon along the coast to moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 32 on the western and southwestern coasts, around 36 on the rest of the coast, and around 30 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tonight, the weather will be generally clear, though there will be periods of increased local low cloud cover, mainly in coastal areas. Later on and during the early morning hours, patchy fog or mist is likely to form locally, mainly in areas to the south and east. Winds will gradually become light, blowing from the downwind direction at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 24 degrees inland and along the coast, and to around 21 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the weather will be generally mostly clear, with periods of increased local cloud cover.
Temperatures will gradually rise through Wednesday and remain largely unchanged on Thursday, continuing to hover above seasonal averages.
