A 16-year-old was seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred in the early hours of this morning in Nicosia.
Specifically, around 2 a.m. today, a vehicle traveling from Georgios Grivas Digenis Avenue toward Larnaca Avenue in Aglatzia, under circumstances that are under investigation, struck and dragged a personal mobility device being ridden by a 16-year-old.

As a result of the collision, the 16-year-old was seriously injured and transported to Nicosia General Hospital, where he underwent surgery and remains in critical condition.
The vehicle involved was located shortly afterward at a different location from the crash site, and a 27-year-old man—who, according to current information, is believed to have been the driver of the vehicle, tested positive with a final result of 73% instead of 22 μg%, which is the legal limit, and was arrested for a flagrant offense.
The Nicosia Traffic Police are continuing their investigation.
