Untaxed tobacco products were seized today by as part of ongoing efforts to combat the illegal possession, distribution, and sale of untaxed tobacco products.

Specifically, following an assessment of intelligence, police officers, in cooperation with Customs Department officials, conducted a search of a vehicle that was parked in a public parking lot in Ayia Napa.

During the search,  

• more than 66 kilograms of hookah tobacco
• 406 cartons of cigarettes
• 64 cartons of small cigarettes
• 40 cartons of heated tobacco products
• 2,750 grams of cigarette tobacco

Both the vehicle and the seized items were confiscated by the Customs Department.

The Ayia Napa Police Station, in cooperation with the Customs Department, is continuing its investigation.
