The British Bases in Dhekelia are summoning a Supreme Court judge from Great Britain to hear the case of causing death by reckless and irresponsible conduct facing the father of two children, ages 8 and 10, who died on Sunday afternoon inside the 30-year-old’s vehicle, which was parked outside the apartment building where he lives in Xylofagou
The 30-year-old was committed today to direct trial on two counts related to the two children, while the court ordered his continued detention until the scheduled trial date, July 16, at 9:00 a.m.

The father’s defense attorney, Andriana Klaidi, stated that the 30-year-old is in a very poor psychological state since “due to the court’s decision, he will not be able to travel to his country of origin, Bulgaria, for the funeral of these minor children.”
The lawyer filed an objection to the request by the Dhekelia British Bases Police, which was, however, rejected on the grounds that there are no sufficient ties to the British Bases.
