Serious traffic accident in Nicosia: A 28-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle; she suffered a traumatic brain injury and a hematoma

A 28-year-old Nicosia resident was injured in a traffic accident that occurred around 10:20 this morning in Nicosia.

Specifically, a car driven by a 66-year-old woman on Kantaras Avenue in Strovolos, under circumstances currently being investigated by the police, struck and injured the 28-year-old woman, who was walking on the street.

The 28-year-old was transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where she was admitted for treatment. According to the attending physicians, she has a traumatic brain injury and a hematoma on her head.

The driver of the car underwent a breathalyzer and drug test, both of which came back negative.

The Nicosia Traffic Police are continuing their investigation.
