Turmoil has erupted in the occupied territories following new BBC revelations about at least 30 children who appear to have been conceived through in vitro fertilization using
the wrong spermsperm or eggs. The Miracle Center, run by Dr. Firdevs Uğuz Tip, whose name is linked to 18 cases, according to the British media’s investigation.
A small group of staff members was involved in the care of many patients who fear they received DNA from the wrong donors.
Miracle describes the investigation as incomplete and misleading and refers to a letter from the so-called “Ministry of Health” stating that the center is not the same legal entity as the Doğuş center, which is at the center of the allegations.

Due to the presentation of unverified claims, the attribution of events prior to 2019 to the Miracle Center, and the disregard of “official” documents, the foundation and Dr. Tip reserve the right to pursue all necessary legal and administrative avenues to protect their personal rights and their professional and commercial reputation.
Former so-called Health Minister Feliz Besim is calling for an investigation into the allegations, while the Community Justice Party is calling on the so-called minister to disclose the results of the investigation he announced he would conduct into in vitro fertilization centers.
Strict Oversight
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus is monitoring
the case; it has not received any complaints regarding such practices in the free areas, where procedures are carried out in accordance with established standards.
The safeguards in place include, among other things, rigorous testing, the tracing of genetic material, and the maintenance of special records.
