The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department is investigating a spate of robberies that took place early this morning in Limassol.
In the first incident, a 23-year-old man reported that, around 3:30 a.m., while riding his bicycle on Promachon Eleftherias Street in Limassol, he was approached by two individuals riding a high-displacement motorcycle.
The passenger got off the motorcycle and demanded that he hand over his wallet. The 23-year-old handed over the wallet, which contained cash and bank cards. The perpetrator then shoved him, got on the motorcycle, and the two fled the scene.
In the second incident, a 20-year-old woman reported that, at the same time, while riding her bicycle on the same street, about 30 meters from the scene of the first incident, she was approached by six individuals riding three small-displacement motorcycles and wearing black clothing, helmets, and black hoods. Two of them got off their motorcycles and demanded that she hand over her money. When she replied that she had no money, they snatched her purse—which contained cash and various personal documents—and then fled the scene.
In the third incident, a 50-year-old woman reported that, around 4:50 a.m., while riding her bicycle on Nikou Pattichis Street in Limassol, she was approached by three individuals riding two motorcycles, all of whom had their faces covered with hoods. One of them snatched her purse, causing the 50-year-old woman to fall to the ground and sustain minor injuries to her face and hands. The perpetrators snatched her purse, which contained cash, a cell phone, and various other personal items.
