The trial in the case against the suspended Mayor of Paphos, Faidon Faidonos, resumes today, Thursday. The last scheduled hearing did not take place, as the prosecution was unable to secure the presence of additional witnesses. Consequently, the case has been rescheduled for today, September 10.
The hearing is continuing behind closed doors before the Permanent Criminal Court sitting in Paphos and is being conducted without the presence of the public, following a court decision granting a related request by the prosecution.

The prosecution is represented, until the conclusion of the proceedings before the Paphos Permanent Criminal Court, by Senior Attorney of the Republic Mikaella Pasardis.
The suspended Mayor of Paphos faces five charges relating to rape, indecent assault against a woman, indecent assault against a woman involving another act, assault resulting in actual bodily injury, and administering a drug or other substance capable of sedating or incapacitating a person. He has stated that he does not admit to any of the charges, and the case is pending before the Court.
