The 46-year-old woman, victim of the attempted femicide in Limassol, who was shot in the face and body by her 55-year-old police officer husband.

According to the latest reports, due to the critical nature of her condition, the 46-year-old was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where she will undergo further surgery.

It should be noted that the 46-year-old woman was initially taken to Limassol General Hospital and then to a private clinic, also in Limassol, and has already undergone other, surgeries lasting several hours. Her condition is considered critical by her doctors, who are doing everything they can to keep her alive.

The latest update stated that the 46-year-old woman’s condition has stabilized, but remains critical, as she has not yet been out of danger due to the very serious injuries she sustained.

The timeline of the family tragedy

The tragedy unfolded on the morning of June 30, outside the Agios Spyridonas High School in Zakaki. The 55-year-old police officer, after passing by the Agios Raphael Marina Coast Guard Station, loaded his service weapon 50 minutes before the start of his shift and, after informing a colleague that he would be going to headquarters at the port for five minutes, he left in his personal vehicle.

According to information from Alpha, the 55-year-old did not appear agitated nor did he exhibit any behavior that would arouse his colleagues’ suspicions.

The police officer was captured on closed-circuit surveillance cameras moving through the Zakaki area and along the route his wife took to get to work. The two met outside the school, and the bloody incident ensued.

The 46-year-old woman sustained gunshot wounds to her face and body.
