The 19-year-old man who was arrested yesterday for committing a total of eleven burglariesand thefts committed in June and July in Ayia Napa.
The court issued a remand order for the suspect for a period of 8 days. The suspect did not object to the police’s request for his detention.
The police had arrested the 19-year-old suspect at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Specifically, shortly after 1:00 a.m., the police received a tip about a person acting suspiciously at a hotel in Ayia Napa.
Members of the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department, after arriving at the scene, spotted a suspicious individual exiting a hotel room. After the individual was stopped, it was determined that he was a 19-year-old in possession of a shoulder bag containing, among other items, 315 euros, a wallet, and two gold chains.
The 19-year-old was unable to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the legality of his possession of the aforementioned property and was arrested on the spot for a flagrant offense, and was subsequently identified as the perpetrator of ten other burglary and theft cases committed during June and July in Ayia Napa.
He is under investigation for offenses involving nighttime residential burglaries and thefts. Attempted burglaries and thefts with the intent to commit a felony and unlawful possession of property.
