The risk of forest fires breaking out and spreading will be at the red alert level on Sunday, the Department of Forests announced.
It should be noted that, causing a fire, according to the Forestry Law and the Law on the Prevention and Extinction of Fires in Open Areas, constitutes a criminal offense punishable by severe penalties.
We strongly urge the public to exercise extreme caution during outdoor excursions and to completely avoid any actions or activities that could potentially cause a fire.
If anyone notices smoke or a fire, they are asked to call 1407 (Forest Service) or 112 (Fire Department) immediately.
