With the start of hunting season tomorrow, Sunday, August 23, we urge all hunters to exercise increased caution, responsibility, and respect for the law during their hunting trips.
Members of the Police, and in particular the Poaching Suppression Unit, will be conducting checks throughout Cyprus to ensure compliance with the law, to combat poaching and hunting in prohibited areas, as well as to provide assistance where necessary.
We remind all hunters that they must:
- Always carry their hunting license and firearm permit with them for inspection purposes.
- Wear clearly visible clothing, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
- Respect other hunters, private property, and the natural environment.
- Exercise extreme caution, as the risk of causing a fire is particularly high.
- We protect our forests and our natural heritage.
In case of an emergency, please call 112.
If you see smoke or a fire, immediately call 1407 or 112.
“Safe and responsible hunting for everyone.”
