As part of the activities of the Aliens and Immigration Service (FIS) to locate and arrest individuals residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, a nationwide operation was carried out today.
During the operation, a total of 42 third-country nationals who were residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus were located and arrested.
In cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection, procedures for their repatriation to their countries of origin are expected to be set in motion.
Among the activities related to the repatriation of illegally residing foreign nationals, the Ministry of Migration and International Protection participated last Monday in a joint operation with Frontex, during which nine more individuals were repatriated.
It should be noted that, from the beginning of 2026 to date, a total of 7,239 individuals have been deported—or repatriated—to their countries of origin.
