Two boats sank and were completely destroyed due to severe weather at Cape Greco, and the images that have come to light are shocking.
Authorities were alerted shortly after 4:00 p.m. when they received a report of a possible sinking of a boat located in the bay between Agioi Anargyroi and Konnos, at Cape Greco.

Police officers arrived at the scene and helped the boat’s operator safely disembark onto land. Due to the rough seas in the area, the vessel struck the rocks and sank. The boat was completely destroyed, with its debris now scattered across the sea.

However, two other boats were anchored at the site. One of them—the second one, that is—also sank, as seen in the images posted on Kitasweather, resulting in its destruction.

A helicopter from the Air Operations Unit was deployed to the scene to rescue those on board the vessels in question. It should be noted that the large-scale operation that was launched is not yet over, with searches to locate all those on board the vessels still in full swing.
