A crucial piece of the puzzle is the victim’s own testimony regarding the attempted murder that took place in Limassol last Tuesday morning.

Although the 46-year-old’s condition has stabilized, it remains critical, meaning that taking her statement is not yet possible. On Friday at noon, she was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where she underwent another surgery.

Key Testimonies

Investigators have pieced together most of the puzzle, as they have taken numerous statements that shed light on what led to the family tragedy. According to the evidence gathered so far, the couple’s frequent arguments and intense conflicts appear to be at the heart of the case, which is consistent with what the victim’s family has stated publicly.

The 46-year-old woman reportedly could no longer tolerate the tense situation and had asked the 55-year-old police officer to end the relationship.

On Tuesday morning, the 55-year-old had left the house first and, after having his service pistol loaded earlier, he returned to the Zakaki area, where closed-circuit surveillance footage shows him following the 46-year-old woman. The two then met outside the school where the tragedy unfolded, and it cannot be ruled out that he had asked her over the phone to park at that specific spot.

Investigators are awaiting the results of the telecommunications data, which is expected to “confirm” that the crime was premeditated.
