The trial in the case against the suspended Mayor Paphos, Faidon Faidonos.
The trial is being held behind closed doors, without the presence of the public, following a decision by the Court, which granted a relevant request by the prosecution. The Criminal Court has scheduled the next hearing dates for today, September 22, September 29, and October 6, during which the prosecution is expected to continue presenting its case.
According to reports, prosecution witnesses from the defendant’s workplace testified during the most recent court sessions.
Since the trial began in late July, more than ten prosecution witnesses have testified.

The majority of them are members of the police investigation team and experts, who were called to present evidence and information related to the case.
Faidonas Faidonos faces a total of five charges, which include rape, indecent assault against a woman, indecent assault against a woman involving another act, assault resulting in actual bodily injury, and administering a drug or other substance capable of sedating or incapacitating a person.
The defendant has pleaded not guilty to all five charges.
