Police officers arrested a 33-year-old man today, as part of an investigation into an attempted residential burglary that took place in Larnaca on August 28, 2026. In connection with the same case, a 39-year-old man was arrested on August 29, 2026, and is currently in custody pursuant to a court order.
According to evidence currently under investigation, the attempted residential burglary took place shortly before 5:00 p.m. on August 28, 2026. Investigations conducted by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) revealed evidence against the 39-year-old and the 33-year-old, on the basis of which arrest warrants were issued for them.
Members of the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department located the 39-year-old on the evening of August 29, 2026, and proceeded to arrest him. Police officers found burglary tools in a backpack carried by the 39-year-old. Yesterday, August 30, 2026, the 39-year-old was brought before the Larnaca District Court, which issued an order for his three-day detention for the purposes of a police investigation.
Shortly after 10 a.m. today, members of the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department located the 33-year-old and proceeded to arrest him pursuant to the arrest warrant issued against him.
The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department is continuing its investigation.
