A 53-year-old foreign woman was arrested in France pursuant to a European arrest warrant issued by the Republic of Cyprus, as part of an investigation into the misappropriation of Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied territories.
According to information provided to CNA by the police, the French authorities are currently reviewing the request for its extradition to the Republic of Cyprus, which issued the European arrest warrant.
The Turkish Cypriot newspaper “Kibris” reports today on its front page the arrest of a Lithuanian woman, who lives and works as a real estate agent in the occupied territories, pursuant to a European arrest warrant issued by the Republic of Cyprus.
According to the “Kipris” website, the arrest took place a few days ago at Nikaia Airport, while the woman was about to travel with her daughter.
As reported in the article, the Lithuanian real estate agent herself publicized her arrest and the extradition proceedings via a video on social media.
In the video, according to the newspaper, Žilevičė states that she has been living in Cyprus (i.e., in the occupied territories) for about 15 years, claiming that she founded “a licensed company following legal procedures in the northern part of the island and operates in accordance with the law.”
