Police officers at Larnaca Airport arrested a 33-year-old man upon his arrival in Cyprus; a 33-year-old man was arrested; he is wanted by the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in connection with an attempted murder case. The 33-year-old was taken into custody pending the initiation of legal proceedings for his extradition to the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an arrest warrant for the 33-year-old, and through Interpol, they issued a Red Notice, adding his details to the database of wanted persons. According to the information contained in the Red Notice, the attempted murder, as well as the offense of conspiracy to commit a felony, were committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2019.
The 33-year-old arrived yesterday afternoon at Larnaca Airport on a flight from abroad. During a passport check conducted by a police officer in the arrivals area, it was determined that he was wanted by the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A provisional arrest warrant was issued against the 33-year-old, on the basis of which he was arrested by police officers and taken into custody.
Today, the 33-year-old will appear in court to initiate the legal proceedings for his extradition to the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department is continuing its investigation.
