Police in Paphos caught four minors driving without a license or insurance

A coordinated operation was carried out to combat juvenile delinquency
ALPHANEWSLIVE

A coordinated operation to combat juvenile delinquency—and, in particular, the phenomenon of minors driving motor vehicles—took place today in the Chrysokhou area.

According to the police, the operation took place from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., by members of the Paphos Traffic Branch, in cooperation with members of the Polis Chrysochous Police Station.

During the operation, four minors were identified, three aged 16 and one aged 17, driving cars without a driver’s license and without insurance coverage.

In two of the four cases, the vehicles did not have license plates, and their bodies were reportedly altered.

The four vehicles, which belong to relatives of the minors, were impounded by the police. As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities will examine, among other things, the circumstances under which the vehicles came into the minors’ possession.

During the same operation, a 36-year-old foreign national was located and arrested; she was driving a car while her driver’s license had been revoked and she was allegedly under the influence of narcotics.

There were also arrest warrants, which had been issued due to her failure to appear before the courts in Larnaca and Famagusta, where cases against her are being heard.

The police investigation is ongoing.
