The police proceeded to arrest a fourth suspect, a 35-year-old man, as part of their investigation into the case of possession with intent to distribute a quantity of cannabis resin weighing six kilograms and 373 grams, as well as a quantity of synthetic cannabis—a substance known as KIEF, weighing one kilogram, which were located and seized by the Drug Enforcement Agency (YKAN) during a search operation at the farmhouse of a 49-year-old man in the Famagusta district on June 20, 2026.
The 35-year-old was arrested around 10:45 a.m. today pursuant to a court warrant and was taken into custody for the purpose of investigating the drug trafficking case.
Three other individuals—men aged 49, 37, and 28—were also arrested in connection with the same case and are currently in custody pursuant to court orders. The 49-year-old and the 28-year-old were arrested on June 20, 2026, during the search, pursuant to a search warrant, at the 49-year-old’s farmhouse. This was followed on June 22, 2026, by the arrest of the 37-year-old.
The YKAN (Famagusta District Unit) is continuing its investigation.
