The initial forensic examination provided no answers as to what caused the horrific deaths of the young boys who died in their father’s vehicle. The pathologist from Greece collected samples from the children’s bodies for histopathological examination.
“Further tests will be required to determine the cause of death of the two children.” British Bases Police
Mystery
The mystery remains, with investigators attempting to piece together, minute by minute, the children’s final dramatic hours. According to a witness statement to Alpha, hours before the tragedy, at 1:40 p.m., a neighbor spoke with the children and offered them candy. A short time later, he saw them playing in the complex’s courtyard.
The father was questioned again today. As we were told, the children had been following a specific routine for the past few weeks while they were in Cyprus. They were instructed to stay inside the apartment and were also supervised by relatives.
The investigation is also focusing on the vehicle involved in the fatal accident. One of the possibilities being investigated is a malfunction in the car’s locking system, with an expert conducting specialized tests.
And the crucial question remains: How did the car end up locked, given that it was unlocked when the children got in?
“The investigators will be able to determine whether—and to what extent—the vehicle’s locking system was at fault. Vehicles are not designed to trap people.” Andreas Tzirallis, Traffic Accident Expert
At the same time, calls, messages, internet searches, locations, and videos found on the father’s and his partner’s cell phones are being analyzed.
