The attempted murder took place at 7:50 a.m. The two coworkers, both ethnic Georgians, had gone to the construction site where they work and, for reasons unknown at this time, got into an altercation.
At that point, the 47-year-old pulled out the construction knife he was holding and stabbed the 44-year-old in front of their other coworker.
“It was determined that the injured foreign national, aged 44, sustained an abdominal wound from a sharp object. He was picked up by an ambulance and transported to the hospital. Witnesses confirmed that he had gotten into a heated argument with a fellow foreign national for a reason that is currently unknown. The assailant pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen.”

The perpetrator fled on foot. Authorities have released his details in an effort to locate and arrest him.
“Mamuka Matitaishvili, a 47-year-old from Georgia, is wanted to assist with the investigation into an attempted murder case that occurred today in the Limassol district. Anyone with information that may help locate him is asked to contact the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department at 25805187, or the nearest police station, or the Citizen’s Hotline at 1460.”

The victim underwent surgery and was admitted to the hospital. His condition is serious.
