The severity of the collision was revealed by the autopsy performed on the body of the unfortunate 16-year-old Giorgos Hatzioannou, who lost his life on the road.
The autopsy on the 16-year-old’s body was performed by medical examiner Orthodoxos Orthodoxou at the Nicosia morgue. The autopsy revealed a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple injuries to the body and vital organs.
This latest tragedy occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Argaka area, when, under circumstances currently under investigation, the 16-year-old allegedly while driving, lost control of his motorcycle on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, causing him to collide with the left sidewalk and then overturn. He then struck an EAC utility pole with great force, sustaining fatal injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Polis Chrysochous Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, according to Alpha’s correspondent in Paphos, Kostas Nanos, based on the testimonies the police have gathered so far, the minor was reportedly wearing a racing suit while riding the motorcycle prior to the fatal accident, but although he was wearing a helmet, he had not fastened it.
Authorities are investigating reports that the 16-year-old was not alone, but was accompanied by two friends who were riding on a motorcycle ahead of him.

Among other things, police are scrutinizing the fact that the motorcycle driven by the 16-year-old was not registered, a detail being examined as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Such motorcycles are prohibited from being driven on public roads, except on specially designed motocross tracks.
A Final Farewell in White
The funeral service for the 16-year-old will be held at the Church of Agia Marina in Agia Marina, Chrysochous, on Tuesday, September 22, at 3:00 p.m.
The family requests that, in lieu of wreaths, donations be made to support the family. Students attending the funeral are also asked to wear white shirts.
