Admitting to the charge of causing the death of his 3-year-old son due to a reckless, careless, or dangerous act, by the 37-year-old father of the 3-year-old child who died in Paphos on July 12.
The 37-year-old father was brought before the court again today, following the rejection of his request to suspend the criminal proceedings against him.
According to reports, the 37-year-old admitted to the charge, and the case is scheduled for October 5, when the father will hear his sentence.
It is recalled that the tragedy occurred on July 12, when the 3-year-old child fell from the third floor of a hotel where the family—who had come to our country on vacation—was staying.
The 37-year-old had traveled to the United Kingdom following the temporary suspension of the restrictive conditions imposed on him, in order to attend his child’s funeral and handle procedural matters in his capacity as guardian.
The Paphos District Court had ordered the temporary lifting of the restrictive conditions from August 7 through September 14. As of September 15, the original conditions went back into effect, which include a cash bond of 20,000 euros, a ban on leaving the Republic, the surrender of his travel documents, and weekly reporting to the Paphos Police Station, among other conditions.
The 37-year-old faces a charge of causing the death of his three-year-old son through a reckless, thoughtless, or dangerous act.
