The trial continues today, September 17, the trial at the Paphos District Court against the 37-year-old British man, who faces a charge of causing the death of his three-year-old son through a reckless, reckless, or dangerous conduct.

According to the court’s previous ruling, the defendant is expected to respond to the charges against him by stating whether he admits to them or not.

The 37-year-old had traveled to the United Kingdom after the temporary suspension of the restrictive conditions imposed on him, in order to attend his child’s funeral and handle procedural matters in his capacity as guardian.

The Paphos District Court had ordered the temporary suspension of the restrictive conditions from August 7 through September 14. As of September 15, the original conditions went back into effect, which include a cash bond of 20,000 euros, a ban on leaving the Republic, the surrender of his travel documents, and weekly check-ins at the Paphos Police Station, among other conditions.

During the previous proceedings, the prosecution did not object to the temporary suspension of the restrictive conditions, but requested additional safeguards to ensure the defendant’s return to Cyprus and the expedited processing of the case.

The case concerns the death of a three-year-old boy, who lost his life after falling from a height of approximately 10 meters at a hotel in Paphos, on the first day of the family’s vacation in Cyprus.
