An unspeakable tragedy in Limassol, where an infant who was taken to the hospital by his father on Thursday night ultimately passed away.
The infant, who would have turned one in two days, had been diagnosed with gastroenteritis a few days earlier.
Specifically, the infant had developed a fever on June 23, and his parents took him to the pediatrician the next day, who prescribed medication.
Yesterday, Thursday evening, however, his condition appeared to have worsened, and his father rushed him to Limassol Hospital; he had no external injuries but was unconscious, with blue lips, pale, and not breathing.
There, despite the doctors’ superhuman efforts to save him, they were ultimately unsuccessful, and the infant passed away at 11:30 p.m.
A legally mandated autopsy is expected to be performed on the body today to determine the exact causes of this tragedy.
