Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman, who is overseeing the search for the ill-fated ship, stated, among other things, that “At this moment, the location of an object believed to be the sunken ship has been identified. The object was located at a depth of 550 meters. I repeat, it is believed to be the sunken ship.”

Emphasizing that this is an extremely technical operation, carried out with great precision and care, Erhurman added, “Starting tomorrow, the ship Alemdar will also be here. Work will continue, including overnight. At this time, at a depth of 550 meters, the location of an object believed to be the ship has been identified. A final announcement will be made later.”
The Turkish Cypriot leader also emphasized that searches on the sea surface are continuing uninterrupted and that operations will proceed in parallel.
“The vessel currently engaged in operations is also capable of conducting operations at night,” said Tufan Erhürman.
