Police officers at Paphos Airport arrested a 53-year-old man upon his arrival in Cyprus, a 53-year-old man, who is wanted by Polish authorities in connection with a fraud case, was arrested. The 53-year-old is wanted by Polish authorities in connection with a case involving fraud, money laundering, and illegal trading in financial instruments, offenses allegedly committed between March 2016 and June 2018 in Poland. Polish authorities issued an arrest warrant against him and, through Interpol, issued a Red Notice on September 8, 2026, adding his details to the database of wanted persons.
The 53-year-old arrived yesterday at Paphos Airport on a flight from abroad. After a police officer conducted a passport check in the arrivals area and determined that the 53-year-old was wanted by Polish authorities, a provisional arrest warrant was issued against him. He was arrested by police officers and taken into custody; he is expected to appear in court today to initiate the legal proceedings for his extradition to the Polish authorities.
