The 40-year-old woman’s condition is considered serious after she was mistakenly given an intravenous injection, said OKYPY Press Secretary Pambos Charilaou, speaking on the Alpha News program.
“We had some complications yesterday. She has been placed on non-invasive mechanical ventilation, but according to her treating physicians, we hope she will soon recover and her condition will stabilize even further.”

Mr. Charilaou explained the differences between the formulations and why enteral feeding formulations are administered through the gut. As he explains, if they are administered incorrectly to a patient, the patient may experience complications, including pulmonary embolism and respiratory failure.
When asked what treatment is followed in such a case, Mr. Charilaou states that the symptoms the patient is currently experiencing are treated.
It should be noted that, in a statement, the Oncology Department announced that an internal investigation into the incident is underway.
From the show’s studio, the patient’s attorney, Marios Charalambides, argued that medical negligence may have occurred, without, however, jumping to any conclusions.
“As for the internal investigation: there are internal investigations that an organization can conduct, which may lead to disciplinary actions.And there are other avenues as well, including the pursuit of criminal or civil liability.”
