As part of the efforts being made by the Police – the Cyprus Police and the Deputy Ministry of Migration to combat illegal immigration and illegal employment, a total of 34 individuals were arrested today.
Specifically, during an operation carried out this morning in Limassol, 20 individuals were identified and arrested for illegally residing in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, and 14 individuals were arrested for illegal employment by three different employers.
The 14 arrested individuals, as well as their three employers, will be brought before the courts on charges of illegal employment, while the three employers were also fined a total of €42,000.
For the 20 detainees, proceedings have begun for their deportation from the territory of the Republic of Cyprus and their repatriation to their countries of origin.
