VIDEO: Severe weather conditions in various regions; new yellow warning for heavy thunderstorms and hail

Night turned into day once again due to intense electrical activity observed in various parts of Cyprus.

Severe weather conditions are affecting many parts of the island, with the Meteorological Service issuing a new yellow warning, effective from 3:30 a.m. on Sunday until 6:00 p.m. that same day.

Severe thunderstorms are affecting the island intermittently. Hail is possible during thunderstorms, while winds will be variable and increasing in strength.

Today, the weather will be partly cloudy at times, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected. Hail is possible during thunderstorms, while winds will be variable and increasing in strength. Winds will blow mainly from the southeast to the southwest, light to moderate, at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 27 degrees inland and along the coast, and to 17 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy, while isolated showers or thunderstorms are expected later along the coast. Winds will be variable and light, at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to slightly choppy. Temperatures will drop to 14 degrees inland, around 18 degrees along the coast, and 7 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, there will be periods of increased cloud cover, which are expected to bring isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoons, mainly in the mountains and inland areas.

Temperatures will gradually rise slightly through Wednesday, remaining slightly below average.
