Elena Antoniadou was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, classified as a vascular sarcoma, a condition that affects fewer than one person per million worldwide each year, and she must travel to England to a specialized center to receive the necessary treatment.
To provide financial support for her treatment, the charity “Wings of Hope,” which holds a fundraising license, has taken on the task of raising funds.
Elena’s ordeal began shortly after the birth of her third child, who is now almost one year old, as she herself explained while speaking on the Alpha Summer show.
“It’s a very rare type of cancer that falls under the category of angiosarcomas. Simply put, in my case, it’s such a rare type of cancer that the surgery is much more difficult to perform, which is why I have to go to England. "The location of this particular tumor."
What initially seemed like persistent shoulder pain was finally diagnosed after six to seven months of continuous tests and anxiety.
Elena must travel to London, where she can receive treatment—a costly treatment—and she will have to take her three children with her, all under the age of five, as her husband is also dealing with some health issues.
“I’m doing the impossible to come back even stronger,” she says, describing her desire to be functional again for her family.
She expresses her deep gratitude to PASYKAF, which has stood by her side since the very first week of her diagnosis with nurses, social workers, and psychologists, even guiding her on how to talk to her young children about her condition.
