The Nicosia District Local Government Organization informs the public that “due to the extremely limited quantities of available water in the areas of Deneia, Mammari, and Kokkinotrimithia, combined with increased water demand from the Fire Department to combat the ongoing fire in the Mammari area, has placed an increased strain on the water supply system.”

“Therefore, all consumers, and especially residents of the above areas, are urged to exercise the utmost responsibility and limit their water consumption to absolutely essential uses only. The public is asked to avoid any non-essential use of water until further notice.”

The Nicosia Water Authority notes that “cooperation and understanding from everyone are essential to ensure sufficient water supplies to meet both firefighting needs and the basic water supply needs of the affected areas.”

“The Nicosia District Local Government Organization is closely monitoring the situation and will keep the public informed of any developments.”
