Members of the Nicosia Customs Office, following an assessment of the relevant evidence, conducted a search this morning pursuant to a court warrant at the residence of a 60-year-old man in Nicosia, as part of efforts to crack down on the illegal possession and sale of untaxed tobacco products.
During the search, the following items were found:

- 361 cartons of cigarettes
- 68 packs of cigarettes
- 595 grams of pipe tobacco
- 30 cigars
- 1,400 cigarillos
- One kilogram of cigarette tobacco
- 111 boxes of heated cigarettes
The 60-year-old was arrested on the spot for a flagrant offense, and the tobacco products were seized by Customs Department officials. Subsequently, both the 60-year-old man and the confiscated items were taken to the Customs Department offices, which took over the investigation of the case.
