Rapid developments regarding yesterday afternoon’s fatal fall of a 4-year-old boy from a balcony in Egkomi. According to the latest reports, police have arrested the boy’s parents, a 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman. They are expected to appear in court today for the issuance of detention orders, pending police investigations.
It should be noted that yesterday, Saturday, the shocking incident that occurred in an apartment building in Egkomi turned into a tragedy, when a four-year-old boy apparently slipped past his parents’ attention and fell from the 6th floor of the building.

The child was rushed to the trauma unit at Nicosia General Hospital in critical condition, where he passed away early Saturday evening.
According to reports, the four-year-old boy—under circumstances that are under investigation—fell shortly after 6 p.m. from a closed balcony at his home, a drop of approximately 20 meters.
As soon as the father realized what had happened, he called an ambulance, which picked up the unfortunate child, who was critically injured.
The family, a family of four of African descent, was living in the apartment where the fatal incident occurred.
