The police arrested four individuals yesterday, to facilitate investigations into two ongoing cases involving robbery and assault resulting in actual bodily injury. The suspects are two 18-year-olds, a 20-year-old, and a 22-year-old, against whom a four-day detention order was issued today.
The two cases were reported to the police by a 30-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman. According to the 30-year-old, on September 1, 2026, while she was on a road in the Famagusta district, she was attacked by unknown individuals who stole her purse.

The second incident reportedly occurred around 6:15 a.m. on September 2, 2026, with the victim being a 33-year-old woman. According to her statement to the police, while she was at a bus stop in the Famagusta district, she was attacked by unknown assailants, who allegedly struck her and stole her purse. The 33-year-old was taken to the General Hospital, where she was found to have sustained a knee injury. After receiving medical treatment, she was discharged.
During the police investigation, evidence emerged against the aforementioned individuals, who were arrested pursuant to court warrants. This morning, they were brought before the Famagusta District Court, which issued a four-day detention order against them.
The Ayia Napa Police Station is investigating the case.
