The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and the Environment announces that today, Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 4:15 p.m., a forest fire was detected in the Mouttes area of the Agia Marinouda community in the Paphos district.
The fire was brought under complete control at 4:40 p.m. after burning five hectares of low wild vegetation.

The following units were deployed to extinguish the fire: two fire trucks from the Forestry Department with a crew of five and two fire trucks from the Fire Service with a crew of four.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
