On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, the Limassol Permanent Criminal Court on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, was being treated by the defendant in his capacity as a psychologist.
The case, which was heard before the Criminal Court in a closed-door proceeding due to the victim’s age, was based on witness testimony as well as the complainant’s own testimony, with the Court finding the defendant guilty on all four charges he faced, specifically, the charges of child sexual abuse in violation of articles of the Law on the Prevention and Combating of Sexual Abuse, the Law on the Prevention and Combating of Sexual Exploitation of Children and Child Pornography, and the Law on the Prevention and Combating of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence and Related Matters.

Emphasizing the abuse of the relationship of trust with the minor complainant, the Court was critical of the defendant, noting that “instead of guiding and advising the complainant, the defendant exploited her emotionally vulnerable state, exerting undue influence over her for the sole purpose of imposing and satisfying his own desires,” with the defendant acting in a calculated and premeditated manner, exploiting the relationship of trust that had developed after the complainant confided everything to him and viewed him as her savior.
In addition to the prison sentences, the Court issued an order prohibiting the defendant, for three years following his release from prison, from:
1. Provide any services to children.
2. Be employed or work in places where children are present or frequent.
3. Reside in a location adjacent to organized facilities where children live or gather.
