There were no significant developments today in the case involving the private criminal prosecutions brought by the family of Thanasis Nikolaou, with the proceedings set to resume on September 9.
The proceedings began around noon, with the prosecution submitting the revised indictment, while the attorney for the second defendant raised the issue of covering legal fees for the current proceedings and requested that the prosecution provide its position on the matter.
In addition, the defense raised the issue of the revised indictment’s defects, with the court requesting that the arguments be submitted in writing and that the proceedings continue on September 9, indicating that, once again, the case has not yet addressed the merits of the matter.
It should be noted that the defendants are medical examiner Panikos Stavrianos, former Limassol Police Director Andreas Iatrou, former head of the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department Nikos Sophocleous, former head of the Rural Police Christakis Nathanail, and former head of the Platres police station complex, Christakis Kapiliotis.
