"Experience" the life of a farmer in an interactive 360° VR experience

A virtual reality experience brings agriculture closer to the public
ALPHANEWSLIVE

What is a day in the life of a farmer really like? What does it take for food to make its way from the field to our table? And how often do we think about the people behind every product we consume?

These are just a few of the questions answered by the interactive 360° VR experience “A Day in the Life of a Farmer,” which gives the public the opportunity to experience modern agriculture through the eyes of the producers themselves.

Wearing a VR headset, visitors “find themselves” on the farm, follow a farmer’s daily routine, and gain a firsthand understanding of the challenges, responsibilities, and importance of agricultural production for all of us.

This initiative is part of the European project Let’s Speak CAP, which uses modern communication tools, such as 360° technology and virtual reality (VR), to bring citizens closer to agriculture, food production, and the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy. The project’s goal is to create experiences that go beyond simply providing information and instead encourage participation, dialogue, and a better understanding of how agriculture affects all of our daily lives.

A unique experience that is already touring Cyprus

The initiative has already attracted the interest of hundreds of visitors through three successful 360° VR showings held in recent months.

The first presentation was hosted on May 6 at Neapolis University Pafos, as part of Career Day 2026, giving students and young people the opportunity to experience agriculture from a completely different perspective.

This was followed by two more public presentations at the Mall of Engomi, on May 22 and 29, where visitors of all ages had the chance to try out the immersive experience and discover how technology can transform information into a personal experience.

Upcoming Stops

The “journey” continues in July.

On July 3 and July 10, 2026, the event moves to the Mall of Cyprus, at the Ground Floor Travelator, where the public will be able to watch the 360° video for free using VR headsets.

This experience is designed for all ages and offers a unique way to explore topics such as food production, sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and the role of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
