Two more higher education institutions in Cyprus have announced scholarship opportunities for their programs as part of Cyprus’s 2026 Presidency of the Council of the EU. These are the European University of Cyprus and CIM – Cyprus Business School. The total number of scholarships offered by higher education institutions in Cyprus now stands at 110.
According to an announcement by the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026, the announcement of the scholarships follows the call for expressions of interest issued by the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU and the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth, on the occasion of the Republic of Cyprus’s six-month Presidency of the Council of the EU.
Specifically, the European University is offering a total of 10 scholarships: 5 are full scholarships and 5 are partial scholarships, covering the entire duration of study in the following English-taught master’s programs, for incoming students, beginning their studies in the fall semester of 2026.

In addition, the CIM higher education institution has announced that it is offering a total of 7 scholarships: one full-tuition scholarship for a master’s degree and 6 partial-tuition scholarships.

With the addition of the above scholarships, the total number of scholarships offered by Cypriot institutions of higher education on the occasion of the Cyprus Presidency now stands at 110, as they are in addition to the 93 scholarships announced by the President of the Republic, Nicos Christodoulides, on May 9, 2026.

The announcement notes that the scholarships are open to Cypriot and European citizens, based on the criteria set by each university. This initiative by the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU and the Ministry of Education was part of the actions for young people, which were a key priority of the Cypriot Presidency, with the aim of providing substantial support to the younger generation in accessing knowledge, it concludes.
