The ECB raised interest rates by 25 basis points, increasing the rate from 2.25% to 2.5%, in an effort to address the consequences of high inflation.
According to analysts’ estimates and based on inflation forecast data, another interest rate hike by the European Central Bank is expected later this year, a move that will place an even greater burden on both borrowers and businesses, which will have to borrow money at higher interest rates.
