There is great interest in the “Rent-for-Installment” program; how many beneficiaries will benefit?

KEDIPES' estimates and data
ALPHANEWSLIVE

It is estimated that more than 2,000 beneficiaries will benefit from the “Rent in Exchange for Installments” program out of the 4,269 applications submitted from 2023 to the present.

According to data presented by KEDIPES, 1,268 applications have been approved so far, and 896 properties have been included in the program. Applications will remain open until the end of the month.

“896 of the applications have resulted in the acquisition of a property; the applicants have already signed a lease agreement, and after five years, they can purchase the property at the prices specified in the lease agreement, which are close to the price at which we purchased the property.”
Lambros Papadopoulos – Chairman of the Board of Directors, KEDIPES

Since 2018, when KEDIPES began its operations, 1.93 billion euros in state aid have been repaid, of which 110 million relate to the implementation costs of the “Rent-for-Installment” Program.

“Let’s calculate: that’s 110 million for the 900 homes. We estimate it will total 2,000 homes, and the fiscal impact will be close to 250 million.”
Lambros Papadopoulos

By the end of 2030, KEDIPES aims to repay 3.2 billion to the state, an amount corresponding to 90% of the total aid.

Based on the company’s revised business plan, the sale of loan portfolios is no longer being actively considered, since, as mentioned, such a move would have a negative impact on the state’s fiscal expenditures.

During the first half of 2026, cash inflows totaled 163 million euros, a slight increase from the same period last year.
