President Nikos Christodoulides’ official visit to Kazakhstan has given new momentum to economic and business cooperation between the two countries, according to a post by the Office of the President of the Republic of Cyprus.
It is worth noting that President Christodoulides traveled to Astana in early June, marking the first official visit by a Cypriot president to Kazakhstan.

As noted in the post, President Christodoulides’ official visit to Kazakhstan highlighted, “beyond its historical dimension, Kazakhstan’s consistent principled stance in support of the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus, based on the United Nations Charter and the relevant Security Council resolutions.”
Furthermore, the awarding to the President of the Republic of the Medal of the Order of Friendship, Kazakhstan’s highest state honor, is noted as “constitutes a clear recognition of the level of bilateral relations and the shared political will to further deepen them.”
“At the same time, the visit gave new momentum to economic and business cooperation, with both countries recognizing the significant prospects for concrete and tangible results,” it adds. Cyprus, as a member state of the European Union and the Eurozone, with a stable business environment, can serve as a reliable gateway for Kazakhstan to the European market and the Eastern Mediterranean, the Presidency notes.
Similarly, it notes, Kazakhstan, as a major economic and transportation hub in Central Asia, offers significant opportunities for the Cypriot business community, by creating a more stable and structured framework for cooperation, with prospects in the sectors of shipping, transportation, energy, technology, cybersecurity, health, and tourism.
