The outlook for the Republic of Cyprus has been upgraded from “stable” to “positive” by the international rating agency Morningstar DBRS, which has also affirmed the country’s credit rating at the “A” level.

In a post on Platform X, the President of the Republic, Nicos Christodoulides, described the development as confirmation of the momentum and positive outlook of the Cypriot economy.

As he noted, Morningstar DBRS’s decision follows the Cypriot economy’s strong growth, historically high employment levels, and a significant reduction in public debt.

The President also noted that Cyprus continues on its upward trajectory, promoting significant reforms that, as he stated, enhance the country’s competitiveness, resilience, and credibility of the country.

“Our responsible fiscal policy and the strategy we are pursuing are paying off and creating more opportunities for the economy and society,” said Mr. Christodoulides, referring to more and better-paying jobs, a further increase in disposable income, new investments, and greater scope for policies that improve citizens’ daily lives.

In conclusion, the President assured that the Government will continue “with the same sense of responsibility, consistency, and determination,” aiming for an even stronger, more competitive, and more resilient economy that expands opportunities and strengthens the future for all citizens.

“Cyprus Is Changing,” he wrote in his post.
