The Welfare Benefits Administration Service (YDEP) of the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare is informing beneficiaries and the public about the August 2026 payment schedule, as well as the payment of increases resulting from the implementation of the Social Participation, Inclusion, and Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities Law of 2026 [Law 96(1)/2026] and the Law of 2026 on the Minimum Guaranteed Income and Social Benefits in General (Amendment) [Law No. 99(1)/2026].
The Department of Social Welfare has completed the necessary administrative and computerized procedures so that the increases will be paid automatically to existing beneficiaries, without requiring them to submit a new application or take any other action.
For the sake of full transparency and to make it easier for beneficiaries to identify the amounts, the increases will appear as separate payments from the regular monthly benefits.

| Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI) – monthly payment | Friday, August 14, 2026 |

Who Is Eligible for the Increases
The increases apply to beneficiaries who, as of July 31, 2026, had a certified disability registered in the Minimum Guaranteed Income system.
The supplemental payments are calculated based on each beneficiary’s approved benefits and currently valid approvals, so that the process can be carried out without causing additional inconvenience to citizens.
Increase in Disability Benefits
The supplemental payment on top of the basic benefit is calculated as follows:
| Beneficiary Category | Supplementary Disability Benefit Amount | Total Basic Disability Benefit |
| People with disabilities up to age 18 | €87 | €455 |
| People with disabilities aged 18–65 | €37 | €405 |
| People with disabilities over 65 years of age | €37 | €405 |
| Beneficiaries under Article 39(2) | 10% increase on the amount paid | — |
Increase in the care allowance and other benefits
For in-home care, a supplementary amount equal to 10% of each beneficiary’s approved amount is paid, with the reference date being the basic payment for August.
With regard to the transportation allowance, the required difference is paid so that the total monthly amount reaches €100.
Specifically:
- for an existing allowance of €30, an additional amount of €70 is paid;
- for an existing allowance of €40, an additional amount of €60 is paid,
- for an existing allowance of €50, an additional amount of €50 is paid.
Retroactive Payments
In addition to the above, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (YDEP) announces that the retroactive amounts resulting from the implementation of Laws 96(1)/2026 and Law 99(1)/2026, as well as the Decision of the Council of Ministers dated July 2, 2026, will be paid to eligible recipients within the last quarter of 2026, following the completion of the necessary computerized and auditing procedures.
Beneficiaries will be notified in a timely manner of the exact date of payment of the retroactive benefits.
No new application required—payments are made automatically
It is particularly important for beneficiaries to note that they are not required to submit a new application or contact the Agency to receive the increases.
The YDEP is processing and disbursing these payments automatically using the data already stored in its information systems.
Beneficiaries are only asked to ensure that the bank account and contact information they have provided are up to date, in order to avoid any delays or problems when the funds are credited.
Information and Assistance for Citizens
For any additional information or clarification, citizens can call the 1450 hotline, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or visit the Agency’s website at www.wbas.dmsw.gov.cy.
The Social Security Agency continues to work toward the timely, secure, and uninterrupted payment of social benefits, as well as the smooth implementation of the new regulations, in a way that minimizes the administrative burden and inconvenience to beneficiaries.
The automatic payment of the August increases is part of this effort, so that beneficiaries receive the benefits to which they are entitled without additional procedures and without the need to submit new applications.
