Oil prices rose again on Wednesday, with Brent crude surpassing $95, approaching its highest level in the past six weeks, following a series of U.S. airstrikes against Iran on Tuesday that heightened concerns about further disruptions to energy flows from the Middle East.
In response to the U.S. attacks, Iran reportedly launched drone and missile strikes against U.S. bases in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain.
At 9:40 a.m., Cyprus time, the price of Brent crude rose by 0.85% to $95.44 per barrel, while U.S. WTI crude rose by 0.52%, to $90.69 per barrel. On a weekly basis, Brent has risen by 10%.
It should be noted that on July 23, the price of Brent had risen to $100.
