As part of its ongoing discussions with relevant authorities to improve the Competitive Electricity Market and reduce electricity prices for consumers, the Electricity Market Association (EMA) held a meeting with the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA).

The meeting took place on Monday, September 28, 2026, with SAE President George Chrysochos leading the delegation on behalf of the Association and PAEK President Polivios Lemonaris leading the delegation on behalf of PAEK.
On behalf of SAE, the Association’s proposals and key positions were presented, with a focus on the more efficient operation of the electricity market and the gradual reduction of energy costs for the benefit of households and businesses.
Both sides agreed on the importance of continuing a constructive technical dialogue among the relevant stakeholders, with the aim of addressing problems in a timely manner and implementing realistic and feasible solutions that safeguard Cyprus’s market and electricity grid.
The goal is to strengthen competition, ensure transparency, and create a sustainable energy model that fully meets the needs of Cypriot society and the economy.
