The countdown to Eurovision 2027 has already begun, as the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is making announcements regarding both the organization of the contest and the rules for countries’ participation.
The next edition of the contest is scheduled to take place in May 2027, with new details regarding scoring, voting, and the eligibility requirements for artists.
Burgas, Bulgaria’s fourth-largest city, was selected to host Eurovision 2027, instead of Sofia, which many considered the front-runner. According to the organizers’ announcement, the two semifinals will take place on May 11 and 13, while the grand final is scheduled for May 15.
The Arena Burgas, one of the country’s newest stadiums with a capacity of over 15,000 spectators, is said to have played a decisive role in the city’s selection. Its facilities are considered suitable for hosting a large-scale event, and access via public transportation is another significant advantage.
